SMM Conference Germany

On the 4^th and 5^th of September, the Cluster journeyed to Hamburg to scout what opportunities there might be for members. Below is a summary of key activities and reflections:

• The event consisted of engaging in meetings, talks, receptions, exhibitors showcasing the best of maritime and vast networking opportunities.
• Key interactions included discussions with the Canadian Cluster, Maritime UK Solent, SMI, the Department for Business and Trade, RINA UK, Stream Marine and Tymor Marine.
• We attended the WISTA Germany event, noting an increase in female participation.
• We attended a selection of panel discussions including: on Decarbonisation through Fleet Efficiency and promoting maritime careers to a younger generation.

We have identified opportunities for future collaboration and cost-effective participation strategies for future attendance which we will share in due course after further discussion.
